I am currently located in the Chicagoland area, where I grew up playing video games, making skit videos with my friends and indulging in novels. Through these interests, I began to fall in love with storytelling and the power of narratives and stories.
I pursued a degree in journalism in order to share unheard stories and highlight small communities around the world. Throughout my college career, I covered and reported news on video games and eSports events.
Even with criticism and backlash for my interests, I have made it my dream to shine a spotlight on the eSports and gaming industry - a community that is continuously growing by the year.
My college career began in La Mirada, California at Biola University where I pursued a B.A. in journalism with a concentration in cross-cultural media. During my time at Biola, I learned the basics of journalism, website design and AP style. I also worked with my first team The Point Magazine and published my first online article working with editors and a team.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I moved and transferred to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time at UIUC, I gained expertise in AP Style, writing and editing. I also gained proficient video/audio/photo editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition and Bridge.
I attained my B.S. in Journalism and a minor in Asian American Studies May 2023.
